• By signing and submitting this Submission Form, you agree to the above shipping and insurance charges.  You also agree to ship via Registered Mail through the US Postal System.  If you have an account with FedEx or UPS, AMA will utilize your account number in order to complete the shipping of your collectible and you will be required to pay the handling fee of $3.75.  *Please be advised, these fees are subject to change as postage and handling charges may rise.  However, the fees are set and are non-negotiable.
• In the unfortunate event that your item should be deemed non-authenticate you will receive a Letter describing to you why this autograph is Inconclusive.
• A.M.A is an independent company. The opinions rendered by our staff are not influenced by another company's opinion nor do we seek to influence any other company.
• A Letter of opinion "authentication" involves an individual judgment that is subjective and requires the exercise of professional opinion, which can change from time to time. Therefore, A.M.A makes no warranty or representation and shall have no liability whatsoever to the customer for the opinion rendered by A.M.A on any submission.
• Our typical turnaround time is 15 days; however the schedules of the authenticators will dictate the actual time a submission is to be returned.
• We do not assist customers in reimbursement issues.
• A.M.A will not be held responsible for unforeseen circumstances when traveling to and from an authentication site.
• A.M.A will exercise reasonable care in handling submissions for authentication. However, if A.M.A determines the customer's submission was lost or damaged while in A.M.A possession, the customer will be compensated in accordance with A.M.A standard procedures and not necessarily based upon the insured value the customer assigned to the item(s) submitted.
• Appointments must be made for office visits. Depending on the amount of items to be authenticated and work load of the staff, your letters can be produced at the time of authentication.
• If not specified, A.M.A will assume discretion of the placement of the pressure sensitive sticker on your authenticated item.
• We respect the opinions and views of others and it is not our policy to comment on the reputations of other company's, dealers, or persons associated with the hobby.
• It is our firm policy for customers not to contact our office for results. We typically process and ship orders within two weeks of package receipt. Please await your return shipment which will include our written results regardless of outcome - ABSOLUTELY no authentication result information will be given over the phone, fax or by e-mail.
• We have a tracking system in place that records the customer number according to the special that we have for that day. This submission form when printed most arrive to A.M.A location in seven days for that special to be good. If the submission form don't arrive in the seven days you will charge our authentication fee of $55.00. We cannot go with the current special or even the special that was offered yesterday to offer you a better deal or a credit of any kind

Quick Judgment and Letter of Evaluation:
The Quick judgment is a service provided by the Academy of Manuscript and Autograph, LLC  that enables you to get the opinion by a forensic document examiner based only on a side by side  evaluation and consistency of the writing with the exemplars in the authentic collection of the Academy of Manuscript and Autograph library. The Quick Judgment evaluation service is not 99% accurate. This is not an authentication, and more  examination of the handwriting will be needed.

The Letter of Evaluation is a service provided by the Academy of Manuscript and Autograph, LLC  that enables you to get the written opinion based on the result of a Quick Judgment from our forensic document examiner as to the genuineness of an item being offered for sale. This service is most commonly used by auction houses or individuals that wish to evaluate their items prior to selling while also offering an upgrade to a full authentication to whomever buys that item. It's a great way to ensure piece of mind to customers seeking reliable sellers amidst a sea of frauds. A Quick Judgment is based only on a side by side  evaluation and consistency with the exemplars in the authentic collection of the Academy of Manuscript and Autograph library. This is not an authentication and more testing will be needed.

MODIFICATIONS TO SERVICE
Academy of Manuscript and Autograph, LLC reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that Academy of Manuscript and Autograph shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Should your item become damaged or lost while in the possession of A.M.A, action will be taken according to the following policy:

• A comparable replacement will be made if possible. If not, compensation will be based on current fair market value (FMV)
• If applicable, a validated and dated invoice is necessary - Proof of purchase must be presented before any compensation procedures begin.
• Payment will be deemed as the current fair market value based exclusively on A.M.A opinion and discretion.
• Compensation will be in the form of the original payment received.
• We will not recognize the value placed on the item by the customer for insurance purposes as the fair market value.

• Maximum restitution for an item submitted for "Stamp of Approval" services will be $20.00.

Appraisal:

• The Academy of Manuscript and Autograph offers Users the opportunity to obtain an online appraisal of personal property. Opinions provided by Web Site appraisers represent market value which is defined as “the price at which the property would change hands within its most common market between a willing buyer and a willing seller, neither being under any compulsion to buy or to sell and both having reasonable knowledge of all relevant facts.” Values given by the appraisers do not take into account expenses that might be incurred in selling or purchasing the property such as sales commissions, finders fees, shipping, photography, or insurance costs.

  Value conclusions are based on the appraiser’s best judgment and opinion. Neither SOLD nor the appraiser represents or warrants that items appraised will realize the appraised value if offered for sale at auction or otherwise. The values expressed are based on information as of the date the appraisal was made.

  You agree that our scope of work for appraisal assignments is limited to providing an estimate of market value for the function of your contemplated sale or purchase, or your personal planning. The appraisal is invalid if used for any other function. You further agree that online appraisers cannot authenticate items, and the limited scope of work prohibits extensive research from being conducted by the appraiser. The appraisal is a USPAP "restricted use" appraisal report that can be used only by you and no else

  Value conclusions are based only on non-verifiable client-provided written descriptions and photographic or digital images of the property, and not on a personal inspection of the property by the appraiser. Therefore, the value conclusions contained in the appraisal may be less reliable than had the item been personally inspected. You are responsible for ensuring that information provided to the appraiser is accurate and complete. Online appraisals make use of extraordinary assumptions, any one of which if inaccurate could render the value conclusions inaccurate. For greater reliability and for appraisal functions other than contemplated sale or purchase or personal planning, you should submit the item to a qualified appraiser for personal inspection.

  SOLD will refund the appraisal fee if, after you have provided all the information requested by the appraiser, we are unable to complete the appraisal. Refunds will not be given for items which are valued at less than the appraisal fee.

  SOLD will notify eBay of the identity of the online appraisal customer and of the item for which an appraisal has requested should, in the opinion of SOLD, the subject item be deemed to be inauthentic, including but not limited to a fake or forgery created with the intent to deceive. 

  Although the completed appraisal report belongs to you, you grant to SOLD a perpetual nonexclusive, royalty free, worldwide right and license to use, with the right to sublicense, any portion of the appraisal report (other than personally identifiable information such as your name, address and email address) including, without limitation, item images, item descriptions and value determinations, for any purpose in any and all media and by any and all means now or hereafter known or devised for any purpose whatsoever, including without limitation the commercialization of such material.

  THE APPRAISAL IS PROVIDED TO YOU ON AN “AS IS” BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. SOLD AND THE APPRAISERS PERFORMING THE APPRAISAL, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES WITH REGARD TO THE APPRAISAL, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSES. SOLD AND ITS APPRAISERS MAKE NO WARRANTIES ABOUT THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF THE APPRAISAL. YOU ALSO AGREE THAT YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR OUR PREPARATION OF THE APPRAISAL WILL BE YOUR CONTRACTUAL RIGHT TO A RETURN OF THE FEES YOU PAID TO US FOR THE APPRAISAL.

• Posting Web addresses (URLs), item numbers or Web sites in the title of a threaded discussion.
• Discussing or reposting deleted posts or warning letters, or discussion of sanctioned or no longer registered members.

• Messages posted to A.M.A public Discussion Boards by A.M.A Community members are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message.
• Items sold or traded by Board members is up to the members discretion.
• Items sold or traded by Board members are not necessarily authenticated by A.M.A 
• User IDs with feedback scores less than 10 are limited to 10 posts per day in the Discussion and Chat Boards. A sanction or suspension of one User ID will apply to all of that member’s User IDs and may apply to members of the same household. The use of false registration information or creation of multiple accounts for use on A.M.A Discussion Boards for the purpose of disruption or to avoid detection may result in permanent sanction or suspension of all associated registrations.
